WHO BENEFITS FROM NINE, WINE & DINE?

Nine, Wine & Dine Golf Outing has been created to assist those in need in the Elgin community. The outing will provide much needed support to the Elgin Parks and Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund and to WOW – Women’s Organization for Wellness, who both work to provide services to the underserved members of our community.

The Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund (RYSF) was established in 1993 to provide financial assistance to young people in Elgin whose families could not afford to register them for recreation programs. The intent of the scholarship fund is to subsidize the resident fee on most of our recreation programs and punch passes.

Women’s Organization for Wellness is a dedicated group of volunteers who have identified a need in our community and have responded with a program that provides free screening mammograms to women of all ages. They provide education and training on breast self examination techniques. In doing so, they act as a liaison between women, doctors, hospitals, and community agencies to procure free mammograms and link to financial assistance if a breast disease is detected. It is their vision to promote the importance of breast health awareness and education to women of all ages and cultures, and to provide the continued resources for mammography services, until the day the Cure is found.
